The kids really enjoyed this movie…it is funny, but maybe a little corny…It didn’t matter tho, we all were entertained by it and found it to be a great movie for the whole family!

This movie is truly amazing, based off of the book by Douglas Adams, this movie is full of adventure and wonderment. Blu-Rays high def is amazing deffenitly worth buying on the high def format.

1 Star Did he read the book?
This is not a good movie at all. I honestly believe Simon Wells did not read the book his grandfather wrote! He looked up a 5 sentence outline of the book and filled in the rest with his ideas.
Now the movie included some special effects, but I don’t agree with the majority who say that they are so amazing.
If you have not read the book, this movie may appeal to you, because you have no idea what the story is all about.
I have read reviews that the book could not be made into a good movie, so this adaptation is good. However I completely disagree. The book is much more compelling with much better imagery than the movie includes.
Skip the movie, read the book!

Nice collection. I know they had to limit it, but there were one or two that I wished were here. But considering the vast amount of material to choose from, this is a great collection and well worth the price! If you can’t afford all the shows from all the series, this is the one DVD to own.

A wonderful show, especially for adults — or even young adults! As an ensemble, these ladies can really act, in my view, and the storylines are well-written; important social issues are touched upon in each episode, and with all of these things together, makes for an absolutely unique & eloquent show — with both humor and compassion. I’ve found that most every episode shows a very moral approach to many ‘taboo’ subjects. I have watched every single episode & never tire of my ‘Girls.’

5 Stars Travel in Time with HG Wells
Several 3rd grade classes in my school viewed this movie (rated G)after reading a version of the book. We’d read it chapter by chapter and reviewed with EOG-style questions. Wow-talk about a page-turner! The children could not wait to read the next chapter just as soon as we finished the last. Watching the movie was a fun way to see the images we’d created in our minds come to life. This was the original version (I think the best) and because it is rated G, I felt very comfortable showing it to my students.

5 Stars Great kids movie!
We bought this dvd as a surprise for our 4yro son to watch during a 14 hour flight. He LOVED it and watched it several times over! Making a long flight not seem so long. His words “a movie with dogs, space and a ferret! This is the best movie ever!” The movie is a bit corny and cheesey but it is fun. This is definitely geared towards little ones, older kids might get bored. I liked that this film kept the plot simple and easy for a little one to follow, and the bad guy wasn’t over the top or scarey. It is a true G-rating unlike some other animated G-rated movies, I highly recommend it for wee ones.

5 Stars Best cure for the winter or land-locked blues
This is one DVD that I might actually wear out. When you’re paining for that Caribbean escape to get you through, nothing is better than Captain Ron. A light-hearted sailing adventure that will make you forget the cold or how far you are from the sea. Like others, I wish they would put this out on wide-screen and maybe add some outtakes. I would buy it in a heart beat. If you have any sailing in you or any desire to spend time in the lower latitudes, you need to get this movie. It’s a fun time and will make you feel good.
